Begin can send push notifications to remind employees to clock in and out via the mobile app. You can set company-wide defaults and per-employee overrides. This article explains how to configure notifications.

Company-wide reminder settings

  1. Go to Settings → Mobile app

  2. Scroll to the reminder schedule section

  3. For each day of the week (Monday through Sunday), set:

  • Start time — when to send the clock-in reminder

  • End time — when to send the clock-out reminder

Set a day to "Never" to disable reminders for that day (e.g., disable Saturday and Sunday for office workers).

Per-employee notification settings

  1. Go to Employees and click the employee's name

  2. Click the Notifications tab

  3. Configure three notification types:

  • Absence email notifications — receive emails when absence-related events occur

  • Fever alert email notifications — receive emails when a fever is detected by a biometric terminal

  • App clock-in/out reminders — receive push notifications to remind them to start and end their day

Custom reminder schedule per employee

When App clock-in/out reminders is enabled for an employee, a per-day schedule appears. For each day you can choose:

  • Follow company settings — use the default times from Settings → Mobile app

  • Custom time — set a specific time for this employee

  • Never — disable the reminder for this day

This is useful for employees with non-standard schedules who need reminders at different times than the company default.

Other mobile app settings

The Settings → Mobile app page also controls:

  • GPS requirement — whether GPS location is required for app clock-in/out

  • Timesheet in app — whether employees can view their timesheet in the app

  • Start new job — whether employees can switch jobs mid-shift from the app

  • Photo uploads — whether employees can take and upload photos from the app
