Employees can register their working time by calling a dedicated phone number from a landline. This is useful for workplaces where mobile phones or internet-connected devices are not available.

How to clock in from a landline

  1. Call the Begin registration phone number provided by your company

  2. When prompted, enter your PIN code using the phone keypad

  3. The system confirms your registration with an audio message

What type of PIN to use

  • Use your 4-digit PIN for a general clock-in/clock-out (no object assignment)

  • Use your 6-digit PIN to clock in against a specific work object

  • Use your 12-digit PIN if the object requires a PIN device

How Begin identifies landline callers

Depending on your company's configuration, Begin can identify landline callers in two ways:

  • By PIN code — the employee enters their personal PIN to identify themselves. This is the most common method for shared landlines.

  • By phone number — if the landline number is registered in the system, Begin can match the incoming call to the employee. This depends on your company's settings.

Make sure your admin has configured the correct identification method for your company's landlines.

Where the registration appears

Phone registrations appear in the timesheet with the method label Phone. The specific PIN type (4, 6, or 12 digits) determines whether an object is linked to the entry.
