Before employees can use a tablet for time registration, it needs to be paired with a Begin terminal and configured. This article explains the setup process.
Pairing the tablet with a terminal
Open the Begin tablet app on the device
Go to Settings in the tablet app
The app displays a Tablet Identifier — a unique identifier for this device
Below the UUID, a list of available terminals appears
Select the terminal you want to pair with this tablet
The pairing is saved and the tablet is ready to use
Configuring tablet form fields
In the main Begin web app, go to Settings → Tablet. Here you can control which fields appear on the tablet and which are required:
Object — required or optional
Job type — required or optional
Job — required or optional
Units — show/hide and required/optional
Comments — required or optional
Click Save changes to apply the changes. They take effect immediately for all paired tablets.
Troubleshooting
If no terminals appear in the list, make sure terminals have been created in your Begin account
If the tablet shows a disconnected status, check the internet connection on the device
The tablet UUID is unique per device — if you replace the tablet hardware, you need to pair the new device
