Automatic Closure

Written by Merilin Peetris

The Automatic closure feature prevents long open time entries when an employee forgets to clock out.

It helps avoid situations where:

  • An employee forgets to end their Shift, and

  • The previous day’s Shift is accidentally continued into the next day.

To configure:

  1. Click on Settings from the left-hand menu.

  2. Click on Automatic closure.

  3. Adjust the settings.

  4. Click Save changes.

Maximum consecutive working hours

Set the maximum allowed length of a continuous working period.

When this limit is reached:

  • The system automatically closes the open time entry.

  • The end time is marked with a question mark in orange box.

  • The entry must be reviewed and manually corrected.

Night work (crossing midnight)

Specify whether employees are allowed to work past midnight.

If employees do not work overnight

Open time entries are automatically closed at midnight.
The end time is marked with a question mark in orange box..

If employees work overnight

The system does not close the entry at midnight, allowing the Shift to continue correctly across two days.
